Professional Background:

I have an educational, professional, cultural, and experiential background that sets me apart from most other Real Estate professionals. I am known for out-of-the-box thinking, which I apply toward marketing unique properties. Extensive experience with sellers and buyers of all types allows me to also relate and think from a buyer’s perspective, which is very valuable when marketing and presenting your home. Understanding what a buyer will be looking for, and what they will be thinking about, is of the utmost importance.

I have been passionate about Boulder and Colorado since coming to the University of Colorado to study Mechanical Engineering and Business. I know the Boulder area inside and out, and have a broad knowledge base related to the Boulder area.

My focus, throughout the entire real estate transaction, is toward my clients. Staying focused on my fiduciary responsibility to my clients is top of mind, while helping them understand each step of the transaction, and keeping them informed. Over the years, and through a large variety of different transactions, I have developed a honed negotiation style that makes me an asset in every transaction I am involved in.

I have true passion for real estate transactions and helping my clients. From condos and townhomes, to mountain properties, ranch properties, luxury homes, and developable land, I have the professional background and knowledge to represent you, manage a smooth transaction, and maximize your returns. Prior to becoming a real estate professional and a top-producing broker in Boulder, I served as president and general manager of ReNové Construction, Inc., a commercial and luxury custom home construction company in Boulder. I have designed, engineered, and built some of the most recognized homes in Boulder. This background gives me a unique perspective, and it allows me to help you prepare your property before listing and marketing it to prospective buyers. I have also performed significant restoration and rejuvenation projects in the Mapleton Historic District and on Landmarked homes in Boulder. Having experience and an understanding of the construction and development rules and regulations in Boulder is very valuable when addressing questions from buyers and their brokers. I have the background and knowledge to properly represent your property.

 

Personal Background: 

I have always been an explorer and adventurer at heart. Throughout my life I have been fortunate to have traveled extensively, but never enough, and I’m always looking forward to exploring new places. I have lived in Canada, Nederland, Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain, and the US.  I consider myself to be multicultural, and am fluent in Dutch, Spanish and English. I love the outdoors and outdoor sports such as hiking, mountaineering, open-water swimming, skiing, mountain biking and kayaking. I share my passions for the outdoors, travel, and preparing good meals with my wife (Roseann), my son (Anders), my daughter (Kasia), and her husband (Cody).

Accomplishments and Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with post graduate work/interest in Solar Energy and Neuro-Physiology, and a minor in Business Administration

- Member of National Board of Realtors,  Colorado Board of Realtors, and Boulder Board of Realtors

- RENE Real Estate Negotiations Expert

- President of ReNove´Construction, Inc., a luxury custom home and commercial light construction company 1999-2014

Sotheby’s takes its Data Syndication to a much higher level than any other brokerage that is not associated with Sotheby’s. (Data Syndication: to publish, distribute, and broadcast a property’s listing information across a wide range of secondary information sources). Most other brokers will syndicate your property data and photos through the local MLS (Multi-Listing Service).  That will typically get your home into less than 100 listing sites nationwide.  In contrast, Sotheby’s has its own Sotheby’s in-house syndication service, which is far more effective, syndicating your home’s listing data in up to 7,000 different listing and special property websites.  Additionally, when Sotheby’s sends out photographs for publication in third party publications, they are transferred in the highest resolution possible (Much higher than the MLS-syndicated photos).  The difference in exposure and quality is dramatic, and, to you, that matters.
